Position Title: Finance Manager
Expected Contributions:
Reporting to the VP Finance & Operations Leader with dotted line/functional responsibility to the Corporate Controller.
The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the daily accounting/financial activities including the following functions:
Credit approval process.
Billing.
Monitoring and coordination of collections.
General Ledger management.
Filing of company information (contracts, invoices, credit information).
Maintenance of capital asset register.
Generation of income statements, balance sheets and reporting requirements on a monthly basis for both internal and external requirements.
General correspondence (government reports, letters, faxes).
Accounts Receivable/Payable.
Cash flow forecasting.
Cash Management - ensuring there are adequate controls in place for the receipt and disbursement of cash.
The Finance Manager will function as the company controller in ensuring the integrity of the above processes.
In addition, the Finance Manager will:
Provide leadership to the members of the Finance team.
Interact with the global finance team to agree upon and implement standard accounting policies.
Participate in the preparation of the annual and quarterly operating plans.
Provide financial and accounting expertise to other departments to assist in business decision making.
Be the primary point of contact for all external audit activities.
Maintain our relationships with banks and other financial institutions.
Assure implementation of corporate policies and standards, interpreted for local requirements.
Assure the quality of financial records and statutory reporting.
Provide Managerial Analysis support.
Ensure compliance to company financial internal control policies.
Education Required:
University Degree in Accounting or Finance and a professional accounting designation.
Experience Required:
At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
3 years of experience with a multi-national company.
Previous team development/ team leadership experience.
Knowledge of Japanese GAAP; US GAAP would be a strong asset.
ERP experience, preferably with SAP.
Basic tax knowledge.
Must be fluent in Japanese and have advanced English capability.
Experience with leasing programs would be an asset.
